My Awesome Father
I am totally a daddy’s girl. When I want to negotiate something like changing my bedtime I will go to him give him the puppy-dog face and voila my bedtime is now 9:00 (on school days ONLY). Whenever I want to do something really fun and I am sitting in the house bored and my dad sees that he will come with me and we will play a game of basketball of volleyball. We always watch sports together and always root for Chicago ANYTHING!! The reason being I was born in Chicago and we love Michael Jordan so we love the Chicago Bulls.
In the summer there is no day when we don’t do something fun. One day it’s a movie another it’s getting ice cream and another it’s bowling and…..etc.…… I am never sitting home bored all day. We also do stuff in the house like playing volleyball (don’t tell mom) and watching T.V together. Sometimes I make him food like fruit salads and sandwiches. I feel that I am soooooo lucky to have the dad that I have. He is one of a kind and I am so appreciative of Whaeguru that he gave me such a wonderful dad.
I always make fun of my dad. I play around a lot and make both of us laugh. If I did it to any other dad they would get super mad. I always make fun of my dad and he just laughs with me and tickles me a lot and then I tickle him back. When we are in the car and my dad turns up the music to full volume I think to myself what other dad would be as awesome as mine. Seriously?
We also bond over sports all the time. We love Chicago Bulls, Bears, Cubs, and so on. Sometimes I joke around to say I like other teams better but most of the time (except for the ravens) I like Chicago and I am just trying to joke. All night we would be debating who would win if there are two teams and not Chicago. Like for the games against Miami and San Antonio I think Miami and my dad thinks San Antonio.
I am also appreciative of my Grandfathers on both sides. On my mom sides I call him Nanu Papa. He is always telling me jokes and making me laugh. He tries so hard to speak English just so he can talk to me. I think I am SUPER lucky to have him. On my dad’s side my grandfather is called Dadu or G-Daddy. He also gives such an effort to try to speak English because all is life he has been speaking Punjabi. I also have Uncles. On my mom’s side I have Mamu and Aman Uncle. They are always willing to take all the kids out do something fun or sit around and play with the younger ones. On my dad’s side I have Sonny Thaya ji and Monty Thaya ji. They always are there for me and are always so funny and have great jokes. They also take us all to a movie or a restaurant or something like that.
I would like to say thank you to my dad and grandfathers and uncles. Happy Father’s Day. I hope you guys all have fun today. You totally deserve it being fathers of such wild kids.
