My name is Tarina and I am an activist and advocate.
I care deeply about social justice issues spanning from criminal justice reform to gun control, to environmental issues. I am the head of my school’s GirlUp chapter and founder of the nonprofit Young Khalsa Girls (an organization that empowers girls to take part in selfless service). I am motivated, determined, and driven to be a person of change, focussing on implementing solutions for our society.
Political discourse is vital in creating progress so I dedicate a lot of my work as the co-head of Student Diversity Board at Madeira high school to give students channels to openly and civilly discuss the most pressing issues. In the past, I have been recognized for speaking, organizational skills, and ability to lead cross-functional teams. I pride myself in my love of learning as I strongly believe that understanding the world and its past, leads to creating a better one.
